I want to start an online business, but idk what to sell!?

I want to start my own online business cartering to a punk/emo/goth/raver/cybergoth market, but im not sure what exactly to sell. Im too young and broke to sell clothes. I'm thinking I should sell make up and accessories. If you were a buyer, what would you want to buy, and what would be the hardest to find?

Well then why do you want to start one targeting those folks?

Don't sell anything you will not buy on the net.

I would recommending picking products which have a universal appeal - once you have set up one online shop, it should not be too difficult to set up multiple shops using the same template and business model (which would allow you to market to different demographics).

In my honest opinion, you will do better by targeting a more mature demographic - the punk/emo/goth/raver/cybergoth "market" consists of teenagers (and most teenagers do not have credit cards).

Here's what I do when I come up with a product:


1. Find a problem, want, or need in people's lives
2. Address the problem and solve it
3. Create a website selling your solution
4. Market your solution to the people with the problem
5. Review how well it's working/not working

Then, you just market it to the people who are interested in it.

Again, here are some generic tips for marketing:

1. Become an expert on the subject.
Most people are not doing this, so you'll have an edge up. Start marketing yourself in forums, chatrooms, and blogs as an expert on whatever your website's subject is. Find out why your product, service, or website is better than anyone else's. (Then tell other people that!)

2. Give away tons of free samples of your product.
With online websites, it's really easy to find 100000 websites that sell or do the same thing. Make people able to TRUST your website by giving away your product for free, and then by having people write back in and saying how well it's worked for them. Otherwise, they won't trust you, and they'll just leave.

3. Come up with, and market, your USP.
(Unique Selling Point) You need to show people why you're better than anyone else!Anyways, I hoped this helped. This stuff is just the TIP of the iceberg of marketing!
