Opening a small online business. I need advice.?

I want to start an online business. (No, not one of those work from home scams.) I have an idea to start a business and I can only start it online because I can't afford nor will I be approved for a loan so I can start it in a store, but I would like tips for starting up a business for someone who has only taken one business course in her life.

I'm not looking for lenders, or work from home business opportunities. I'm looking for advice for starting my own business so I can get going on my idea.

Congrats on taking the plunge! I'm currently working on an article which will focus on getting your Online Business Education on a budget.

Some quick tips:

1) Commit right now to becoming a lifelong learner. The majority of the information you need to become successful can be found free online or purchased via Amazon.com for a couple hundred bucks.

Wait until you start making decent money to invest in the really expensive Internet Marketing courses, where you'll network with the internet's best and brightest entrepreneurs.

2) Fail fast. We're taught in school to fear failure - DON'T. Remember, failure is feedback, learn from it and keep moving forward.

3)Think BIG and big things will happen. In the world of internet business and marketing nothing is too out-of-the-box -- be creative.

4) Research your market. Use Wordtracker.com's free keyword suggestion tool to find out what your customers are searching for. Then build a site that focuses on those customers' needs.

5) Start with the end in mind. Develop your business from the beginning like you're eventually going to hire for each job (financial, customer service, etc) and hand over the keys to someone else while you retire in the Bahamas.

Order these two books immediately:
4-Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss and E-myth Revisted by Michael Gerber.

I'd love to hear more about your business. So if you get a free moment, contact me and we'll talk more about how to get you started.

Good Luck!

Kevin

Start selling on eBay.

make sure when you incorporate your business, you become an LLC (limited liability corp.) this way if a client or another company comes after you, you and your assets are protected. also, plan to have at least 6 months bills set aside. new businesses usually start slow.have plentiful and myriad ways fo effective yet low cost advertisements. try craigslist and creating strictly business pages on sites like myspace and blackplanet.

Hi,

I am a Yahoo e-commerce merchant and when I thought about starting an online business, it seemed overwhelming.

That is until I read a great fr*ee e-book called "Starting Your Internet Business Right"

It is a guide that will explain everything in detail that you will have to accomplish in order to start up your Internet business.

It gives you a guide and a timeline that you can follow in a very logical sequence. This will make your goal manageable.

There is a link to my site in the source box below. Once on that page, you can read a review of the company that offers a lot of fr*ee resources.

There is also a directory of legitimate drop ship wholesalers when you get to that point down the road.

Once you are on my site, scroll down about 1/3 of the page and you will see the link that will take you to the download page. You can read the book online on the site or you can download it to your computer and read it at your leisure.

I printed it out and used it as a reference guide.

The book accelerated the time it took me to set up my website and guided me at a time when I really needed it.

Good luck and if you need any more information or assistance, you can contact me through my profile.

Regards, Marc
