working from home is a great thing these days. I myself work from home and one of the things that I have found that most work at home companies do charge something. Perhaps you should do a search on one of the leading sites for working at home. one that i use alot is http://www.dsa.org . this site is chocked full of businesses that allow a person to work from home in their spare time.

I know you are looking for free opportunities, but a point of advice is that alot of the free opps are fly by night and when you spend money you get nothing back. There are also some that are charging and you get nothing.

The DSA website is a membership based organization that the businesses join to show that they are reputible in the field. When a company has the DSA logo on their materials and such, including websites, you can be assured that they are legit.
The company that i work for charges a minimum start up cost and you earn your start up kit. Most companies what in the neighborhood of 150 to 200 dollars to get your start. I believe that I paid 40 bucks to start. they sent my materials that I needed to get going and helped me train along the way.
