Why does the NHS recommend that I don't transfer my Pension to present scheme do they know something we don't?

they say it is best to leave my present pension scheme in situ rather than transfer it in to my present scheme, are the Health Service going belly-up and using our funds to shore up the leaks in their payment plans or is it something more ominous

I enquired about transferring a pension into a subsequent employers one. The transfer value was considerably less than if I froze it and kept it as it was.
That may be the reason they advised you to do that.

Interesting: those mo fos owe me some serious cash when I retire so they better pay up. I WON'T be passive like all those old biddies who got their pensions smoked in the 80s by a public school tosser in red braces.

I would suggest you stay in a Public Sector Pension Scheme if you can, look at the Private Schemes that have failed..I have a Public Sector Pension and its good for me and I had the chance to change in the 80's so very glad I didn't\ Get some proper professional advice.

The NHS scheme is a "final salary" scheme with benefits based on earnings and length of service. The benefits are therefore guaranteed. Most private sector schemes are now investment based (not guaranteed). It is generally regarded as a poor decision to give up guaranteed benefits for those that depend on investment returns in the future.
