How do I move my pension? |
I am moving jobs soon and have been paying into a company pension for 5 years. Can I move this fund to my new employers pension scheme? If they convert it to an IRA then you can move it, otherwise you may have to leave it with the company until you are retirement age. Why don't you just put what they would take out for your pension in a savings account? The thing is years ago people expected to be in a certain job for a long time, now, as in your case 5 years and it is all change. The whole pension thing is a minefield, companies have seen that cash a a pot to dip into to at random and a lot of people have been stung.I know I have not answered the question as you would like put I just have an opinion on the subject. Your company should be able to convert it to an IRA. |
