Is it really true that you can not cash in a UK pension fund until retirement age? |
Need some cash now and want to cash long dormant pension fund. Any suggestions? Thanks. No it is not necessarily true. With many types of fund you can obtain part of your pension fund from age 50. The remaining funds are then transferred into a new pension. It is best to get advice from an independent financial adviser (IFA). I managed to get about 33% from an old pension scheme this way, with the rest reinvested. So it can be done. (By the way, it is expensive to do this......). in the US you can't get money from a pensions fund unti after retirement -- perhaps is the same there (Sux don't it) |
