What would be the best short term investment with the most yeild for personal gain if all you had was $5,000.0

if you go with a cd, i would recommend that u open an acct. thru everbank.com and look for a word currency cd in icelandic kronos, they're currently yeilding 12.24% in a 3 mos cd.... u just can't get that % investing in the dollar...

Depends on how short term, I guess.

If you need it on short notice -- as in, you might need to write a check for the full amount next week -- then I'd go with a money market fund.

If you know it's not needed for three months or more, then a CD is probably the right idea.

Longer than that? I'd go with a total bond fund through Vanguard, or maybe take a little more risk on a stock fund.
