Investing safely -- what to do with 1 year and $100,000? |
Imagine you've just got a free $100,000 loan you absolutely MUST payback in full at the end of the year. You get to keep any profit/interest. What is the most profitable safe investment type now that CD rates have tanked 2% in two months? Better put your money into a high interest account @12% APY as I did and earn $12,000. Never buy bonds, stocks, metals or Real Estate with a one year time horizon. CDs or money market fund. Anything else has too much risk. buy a forclosed home, or ant real estate, it only goes up in value. A one year CD is the only thing that makes sense under these circumstances. Yes, the rates are down, but that's life. You should learn to trade the stock market. Many professional traders can make 2 to 3 did-git returns on their money year after year. buy wine, wait 5 years and sell it it will triple your money. hei 300 gran in 5 years is better than the bank and is 99% that is going to work. My favorite wine now is 2002 ...very good year in 2002 it was 7$ per botle now is 45$...check it out There is plenty of options out there. I suggest that you place all the amt in a fixed deposit acct. Check with banks on their interest rate. Don't go with anything below 2% interest on fixed deposit. Anything above 2% is favourable. Then with the interest earned monthly, you can use that to grow your wealth by investing in gold stock, oil and forex. Why gold? Gold is one of the most profitable and safest investment. Gold value has been climbing steadily from a few dollars an ounce in the good old days to USD$920 an ounce. Price of gold was around USD$715++ last year and it hit USD$927 on 11 Feb 08. Forecast of gold by analyst (Gold World.com) could reach USD$1000 an ounce in year 2008. $25,000.00 USD (25%) A CD is still your best bet. |
