Sell or Rent my investment property? |
The value of my investment property has dropped from about $650K to $530K in the last year. Selling at $530K would put me at a loss. Best to hold tight as long as possible, property in certain areas has taken a hit especially in the USA, I believe that property will increase in the future due to population out stretching resources this has already happened and continues to happen in certain global markets. Hold tight and see what the US government elections will bring as this will influence US property values immensely. You should rent it out. That way they pay for you property. And then when you want to move in or you renters finish paying it you own it. If you can charge enough rent to cover the mortgage and other expenses, then rent it. A friend owns a rental property (her house she can't sell), she is breaking even every month, but saved $13,000 on her income taxes because of the depreciation and her expenses. |
