How can i repair my credit rating?

my credit score is so bad from my past that i cannot get accepted for anything, not even capital one will consider me. However strangely i recently got accepted for a contract from vodafone. Keeping that up to date will help a little but how can i speed up the process of raising my credit score? i have copies of my report from experian and equifax and it doesn't look good.

It can take a while but if you continue to pay your contract phone on time you will start to build up a decent credit record.
there are people out there who say they can "clean up" your credit history if you pay them xxx amount of money but I would be wary. Why the rush anyway? Surely if you have a bad credit score already you dont want to rush out and be able to buy things on credit again without being able to keep to your commitments. if its for a mortgage etc there are usually companies who will help people with poor credit scores but tend to charge a higher rate of interest. It will look better if you are seen to keep up to date with even 1 commitment than having several on the go and defaulting on one again.

Stay away from anyone who offers to help you repair your credit rating. Also do not continue to apply for credit, to many inquiries and your score will drop also.

hi sweetie, I am currently rebuilding my credit and this ebook from NHBS, Inc helps a lot, you may w ant to have your own copy, its for free

have a great day! goodluck

Getting a 3 in 1 credit report is a good start. Now you need to find a website that you can learn how to repair your credit. Hey, here's one you can look at http://www.thecreditrepairmanual.com
I have used it to mail letters of dispute to the reporting agencies.

Use a spanner or else call a mechanic!
cut all your credit cards and if u can pay them back then do that if not go burst take the bankrupcy route!

There is no way to erase bad credit from your credit report, but you can improve it. You can start by pulling your credit report form all three credit agencies which are Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. You can find out how to obtain these for free annually at the U.S. Government website at Federal Trade Commission. Then, follow these simple guidelines to help restore and improve your credit score.

First, make sure all the information on your credit report is accurate.

Second, try to pay off all or any accounts that are currently in collections or make payment arrangements with the creditor to pay off the balance monthly.

Third, any credit card that is over 50% of the available credit line should be paid down to under half of your total credit line. Your credit score is lowered when your available balance is over 50% of your total credit line.

Finally, if you have bad or no credit and have no credit cards try to obtain two credit cards and make sure all of your monthly payments are made on time. This will help increase your credit score. If you cannot be approved for a unsecured credit card, obtain a secured credit card.

Repairing your credit and improving your credit score is a slow process that takes time.

I have been to "many" different credit repair sites on the web. Some were pretty good and some were pretty bad. I refuse to use a website<!--that requires a fee to get their credit repair info when there is great free sites on the web.. I'm listing the best site that I've ever been to.

It is a "free" do it yourself credit repair site. I have learned so much by reading and asking questions on that site. And, I have seen "significant" improvement on my credit reports after learning-->my rights and using them.Don't pay for information that you can find for free.

And when speaking about credit score, To find out specifically what you must do to raise your score, you can order your score report from all three national credit bureaus. In addition to your score<!--you'll get your credit report, an indication of how your score ranks nationally and an explanation of how you can boost your standing.

In order to improve your credit score, it's important to know where you stand currently. Despite all the media attention given to free credit reports-->you still have to pay to find out your credit score, the three-digit number ranging from 300 to 850 that is the key to your borrowing costs.

To Repair credit score
Your credit score is based mostly on:

1. Length of credit history
2. Payment history.
3. Ratio of credit used to available credit.
4. Number of credit inquiries you authorized.

If you cancel your card, you'll be hurting your credit ratio. (#3).

You want to deliberately keep your oldest credit card open, even if you never use it.

You want to always pay the minimums of each loan on time every month.

You want to keep your available credit high, but actually only have balances equalinig 25% or less.

You want to keep your credit inquiries to a minimum. Try for no more than 3 or 4 per year for any type of loans.

You do these things and your credit score will quickly soar into the 700s.

There is no quick fix and do not let anyone tell you differently.

Its like weight its easy to put on but harder to loose.

Vodafone is a good start yu have to start somewhere keep your bills paid on time DO not for any reason flunk on any payments for anything and slowly but surely if you are committed enough you will get there, my hubby is living proof of it.

When i met him his credit rating was bad we have been together for 8 years his credit rating is now excellent

Good luck!
