How do I get sponsors for cleaning up a forest? And who do I use for sponsors?

I want to have an event to help raise awareness of the troubled filth in our forests here in the capital (Ottawa) of Canada. My goal is to get exposure to become bigger in my business venture. So getting volunteers and advertizing to the public about this big event is hard for me cause I don't know what to do to get it started.. I want sponsors (companies) to help out with maybe a prize for the most amount of garbage picked up and recycled. And to have food and beverages covered with these sponsors as again I am just a small business tring to get bigger.. The exposure will really make my business grow. Any positive feedback would really be nice. Thanks in advance.

I run a small business for junkhauling... I get rid of junk you no longer want and dispose of it to where it should go.. Some goes to the landfill, the rest go to charities & recycling depots.

I think the only way to accomplish what you want is to team up with a local non-profit organization (essentially making YOU the sponsor). Companies and volunteers are unlikley to line up to help YOU gain exposure (even if your heart is in the right place), but if you are working in tandem with a environmental group - it adds credibility to your idea. Be sure you are adding value to the non-profit's cause so its a win-win situation. Good luck.
