Why capital one credit card will not give me a credit increase?

I have had a credit card with capital one for THREE years now. i have made all payments on time, never late. They started me out with a $500 limit and have never raised my limit once. I called just now because i dont think that is very fair and I requested a increase on the limit and they said at this time they cant! My credit score is a 680. Why is this?? I am not happy with capital one and want to cancel my card with them, but i have had it for three years now and having accounts for open for longer than 2 years is good for your credit score.

There should be no reason that you didn't get increased. Have you be participating in things that would act to raise your credit score? Are there things that are holding you back and would make a credit card company feel that they are taking greater risk by providing you a higher limit? Do you have a job that earns more than $500 a month?

These are all factors. If you have something that looks bad on your credit report, that could discourage them from raising your limit. Check your credit score if you are worried that there may be a sore spot in your credit history.

I'm guessing the main factor is that you just don't have the net worth for them to justify giving you a higher limit. Do you have a steady job? Do you have savings in excess of $500? I certainly wouldn't give a credit card to a person that maintained $300 account and didn't have a steady source of income.

tell me about it....
I've been wit them 2 years and they always denied me too
i got a score of 647
i just don't use mines
keep it
if u cancel it, u might lose points...

Did you ask them why? Is it income? Actual to available debt ratio? Or just a "freeze" on their part? Credit is getting tighter now, but canceling the card will hurt you more than them.
