How does a minor (17) raise enough capital to get an invention off the ground?

I have several devices which i have designed, prototyped and tested and want to bring to market. I have one device in particular that is very easily marketable and would be indespensible to anyone in the us throwing out old computers. i can produce the item for $3 and can resell it for aprox. $30. I am filing for a provisional patent using money from my computer business(which made 80,000% profit last year(I started with $5)), but i dont have enough money to build the machines so that i can manufacture the device out of my basement. Does anyone know How i can get enough money to start manufacturing large quantities, also i need to contact manufacturers and get an attorney. Any suggestions (or money) would be appreciated.

im applying for a provisional patent this week

Go to a good library and read page 100 of the 2/26/2007 issue of Business Week magazine. The article is titled "A Matchmaker For Inventors." It is mainly about technological inventions but UTEK may know of someone for your invention. There are also "Investor Relations" companies that will do press releases for you, set up press conferences, basically get your invention known where it needs to be known & find venture capitalists for you. Expect to pay about $50,000 for 6 months work.

Instead of trying to convince us you should be looking for a potential partner for the first item. You can learn the ropes from that and then market the rest on your own. You are either going to have to buy ($$$$) up front market support or get someone to invest in your idea for a % of the idea.

you could fundraise......or get a job.

Do you have a patent?
