I am 18, and have $3000 to invest. What should I put it in? |
I am looking for something that can offer me some sort of return on a $3000 investment. I am looking for a short term commitment ( > 6 months), and something higher then my .05% interest on my savings now. What can you reccomend? A CD or high yield money market fund would be all you would use for a 6 month time horizon, look at bank rate .com and check them out against your local banks. I would suggest talking to a bank officer and see if there are any low risk investments or possibly short term CD`s with your bank. Be very careful and save your money for when you really need it. fast returns are a promise that almost always fail. hi, 6 months is short term. CDs are paying only ~2.9% right now, best bet is a money market account. A high interest savings account that FDIC insured. Check out ING Direct or other online banks. MAKE SURE they are FDIC INSURED! |
