What would be considered a good percentage rate return on investments over the last 2 years?

Depends on what assets you invest in. for equities 20%. see below chart

It depends on what you invest in US stocks gave 20 to 25 best for the last three years

Real Estate and Natural Resources gave 39 to 44 % the last three at best

Emerging Markets gave 40% the last three years each year these are.

So does that answer your question. I say 30 % was a great return on your money the last two years. Maybe 20 would be a good one.

compare your stock, ETF, or mutual fund with the S&P 500 index, which you can do on finance.yahoo.com. If the return is better than the index, keep it, otherwise sell it and go with the index. I shoot for 8-10% per year for stocks (including dividends).
