Can I understand that investment's required return and expected return are same things?

Can I understand that investment's required return and expected return are same things?

They are not. A required return is the amount an investment MUST make in order to be considered for investment. The expected return is the average amount expected to be received from an investment, even if it is below the required return. The expected return is the "average" return.
