How to convert monthly rate of return on an investment to annual?

The annual return would be (1 + MonthlyRate)^12 - 1 (where ^12 means to the 12th power). Componding monthly.

So, if you had a 1.0% monthly return, that would be 12.683% annual return.

Multiply it by 12.
