What stock will give the biggest return on $10k investment over 5 years?

What stock will give the biggest return on $10k investment over 5 years?

If you are going to invest money, my first piece of advice would be to concentrate on finding a safe stock that you will not lose money on, i.e. a stock with a good margin of safety. One method on doing this is to buy a stock that is temporarily beaten down and is below its real value. To get an idea on how to find these stocks, check out the writings of Warren Buffet (worth an estimated $52 Billion) on http://www.berkshirehathaway.com and read a book called The Intelligent Investor by Ben Graham. The only way to make money consistantly in the stock market is through buying stocks that are trading below their intrinsic value. Everything else is just speculation. There's nothing wrong with speculaing, because you may get lucky, BUT you might also get burned BIGTIME. So my advice would be to stick to buying 90% of your stocks that are below their intrinsic value and then use the remaining 10% of your money as "Vegas Money."

Some of Warren Buffet's recent purchases: General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, White Mountain Insurance, Wal-Mart Stores, Conoco-Phillips & Burlington Railroads. I think its not a bad idea to follow the recent purchases of the world's second richest man. All of these stocks have a large margin of safety, are trading at their lowest valuations in YEARS, they pay dividends and they have plenty of room to run. Plus, I can sleep at night knowing that my money isn't going to evaporate into thin air on some bone-headed speculation that I made.

It's also not a bad idea to follow insider purchases. Insiders at companies know better than almost anyone else about the health of their companies. If they are buying their company's shares hand over fist, it might not be a bad idea to join them. Yahoo Finance makes it pretty east to find out who's been buying what on their stock quotes section.

Hope this helps. Always remember to do your research first and NEVER rush to buy any paticular investment, regardless of its asset class.

Unless you are God, there is absolutely no way to tell. Remember one word: diversify.

? You think that if I knew I would tell you? Besides, my crystal ball is at the dry cleaners...

stocks

NONE. The stock market in general will rise a percentage for any given year, but it's wiser to invest in a mutual fund for the best and most robust return.

The volatile nature of any given business does not lend itself to such a long term prediction. In 1980 the medium server business was basically owned by WANG or DIGITAL. Over 5-10 years, WANG died and DIGITAL merged and it too disappeared. Kaypro and Osborne Computer rose to the crest and fell off the board. Chrysler came back from near death several times (now it's being split from DaimlerBenz). Ford has 12.5 billion in debt or over 8? times more than what almost killed Chrysler prior to Lee Iococca. Sony has problems, Sanyo has problems, RCA Corporation is GONE, bought by Thomson of France, GE stopped making televisions (now made by the Chinese), owns NBC Universal (owns Motown, A&M, Polydor, Mercury, MCA/Universal and Island Def Jam Group as UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP as well as Universal Studios, USA Network, SciFi and other cable networks)

Just a handful, and the market is so volatile hedging a single one is pointless. Find a fund that agrees with your philosophies and ethics and then find the best return history along with the broker with the best history and resources. The funds and bonds will be stronger than most of the company anyway.

Neither stocks nor funds will have insurance like savings accounts, so a loss is always a risk in adverse conditions.

don't know about 5 years, by for 5 months consider Canadian Energy Trusts. They pay over 10% in income alone, plus potential for appreciation. I've been in it since november and will hold it till at least august.

This company will give you .06 cents a share that you would pay .014 per share today for. So lets do the math.

10,000.00 div by .014 = 714,285 shares.

714,285 shares x .06 = $42,857.00 on the share buyback and then lets compound the 6% interest $42,857.00 x 6% annual is equal to $2,571.00 per year times 5 =
$12,855.00 in dividends
So $42,857.00 plus $12,855.00 equals
$55,712.00 in 5 years from a $10,000.00 investment.
