What's the safest return on investment aside from real estate? FDIC-insured accounts or Treasury bonds. Option Trading CD's are pretty low risk and solid return Government bonds are the safest investment. (This isn't even debated. Theoretically, if the government bankrupted, you'd be one of the first to get paid.) Excellent question. Stocks are very safe if you do research and find value, buying stocks that are 'on sale.' You can look to places like economicinvest.com to identify what is 'on sale' and make good money in the process. Cash funds, of course! As a retired banker I would have to say It depends on your goal are you seeking something long term or short term. Are you talking about the APR given a periodic yield or a holding period return? If period, then how many compounding periods in the period? ... Five percent is a good number, but it does vary from year to year. Three to four percent is a more conservative number, but in the past there have been some years that inflation was double digits! ... If this is a stock and its simply gone up that much in two months, then I would merely be happy with the good return. If someone is promising you that kind of return on your money, you're a... That's Simple. If you have 10+years, there are several balanced mutual/index funds, that have returned more than 10% on average. Use a fund stock screener - you can see them - pay attent... |
