Requesting Seed money for a 501 (c)(3)?

We are in the process of rehabbing a house to open a grouphome for teens girls aging out of the foster care system. From my research it appears we should have no problem getting funded once the program is up and running.

We are in need of seed money for repairs etc before we open. Anyone know of any corporations that fund seed money to 501 (c) (3) companies?

I suggest you check out Foundation Center to find possible seed funding sources. They have the most extensive database of private donors, and they publish a magazine that can be very helpful to your new non profit.

My advice would be to not loan the seed money since there is the danger of not having the loan repaid.
