Employee or run me own company?

My father and my anut both run leather businesses. While my father has basicly retired from his my anut still runs hers both companies have huge money making potential and are there for the taking. The situation as I see it is two companies with 7 figure income potential and come with small getting started risks and startup working capital costs. the catch is I have alot to learn and must travel 2k miles to get into it leaving my wife for a short time, to make my fortune. before she joins me. Wife has 50k a year job and is ok without me for awhile. should I a: get a job here and shutup or b: go for the brass ring? opinions of business owners helpful but any welcome. business owners please give me some personal backround with your answers if you would. thanks for your time I know how important it is to you.

My background is Business Admin., and I own a mortgage company.

In business one of the most important factors to learn is risk assessment. Are the rewards greater than the possible loss?
From your question my friend, is sounds like you already know what the best option for you is.

run your own company if you have enough cash!!!!!!!!

I have only run my own businesses, retired in my mid 40's...

Got married, moved 3000 miles and opened a business in the same year with my wife.

Happy camper!

Go for it! Sounds like a winner. You sound like you would be miserable in a crap job.
