How to market my business?

I've started an Umbrella company for Contractors who need to get paid through a limited company but don't have one of their own, and set up a site at www.psccs.com . I've got virtually no startup capital and was looking for ways to market my business on a shoestring, or ideally for free.
Ideas?

You should have brochures, business cards, and letter head to look professional. Go to a virtual office in a business park and have them answer your calls. They will take messages, forward your calls to your cell phone or another phone in your home. Do not use your home line as a business line. It doesn't work if the children asnwer it or sounds like you are working from home.

Start advertising on Craigslist.org. They let you post for free. You don't state what type of contractors you are looking for. In your marketing campaign target the type of contractors by joining their group such as computer techs. They have their own forums on line and off line. Get free subscriptions to all contractors trade magazines. Put out press releases to those trade magazines. Also, I would do another web site and market to the US market too. Try to form JV's.

The IT & finance industries use quite a lot of contract staff - try approaching one of the recruitment agencies for such staff and do a tie-in with them to help their contractors.

I always tell people this, 'You can make money if you can create website or blogs'. by providing free and good information.

I'm 41 now, work from home in shorts and T-shirts and sometimes topless. I set my target as low as to make 1 dollar/page/day. I strive to create a new page for my websites everyday but I have all the freedom I need and making money 24/7 on the internet with Google Adsense and some affiliate programs. The only thing that tie me down is 'how much income I want or need'. Because the more websites and traffic I have will determine how much income I can much.

Anyone who can create websites or blogs to provide lots of good information can make money from Google Adsense. Blogger.com and Google pages lets you create blogs for free and allows you to make money too.

You can make money by joining me or Google as a publisher and publishing Google Adsense on your websites. If someone clicks on those ads, you will earn money.

hiya, try vistaprint.com (not .co.uk as .com site is cheaper!) for low cost printed marketing materials, i have used them and think they are great - they also produce a 'marketing on a shoestring' guide too (find this on the bottom left side of the free 250 business cards page).
