An inheritance of $650,000. is invested in two ways..?

Part is invested at 5% interest and the rest is invested in a stock that yields 8% interest. If the total earned on these two investments was $39,501.99, then how much was invested in the 5% investment, and how much was invested in the 8% investment? Round your answers to nearest cent.

I've come up with what I believe is the answer but I don't have an answer key on the back of the worksheet.

If you invest $416600 @ 5% and $233400 @ 8% you end up with $39502 earned from investments.

416,600x5%=20830.0
233,400x8%=18672.0

= 39502.0
