Which is a better career?

Stock broker or investment banker?

(pay, work required)

There is such a large number of different jobs in both and alot of the work can cross over. By that, I mean that Investment Banks often have a Stockbroking dept. Therefore, its not an easy answer either way.

If your new to it, working for an investment bank would probably be best, more opportunities worldwide and transfers to other branches are often available. Once you know what your doing, you could always try working for a stockbroker.

It depends, if you like sales than becoming a stockbroker may be a good choice. If you more analytical work, math, spreadsheets, putting everything together, then becoming an investment banker may be a good choice.

Financially investment banker could be a better choice. Most of their income is from bonuses. A few big deals a year could make you a lot of money, kind of like a real estate agent who sells a few big houses.. A stockbroker makes money from commissions on financial products they sell, which means doing volume.
