Investment...?

Hey, I'm a college student that have twenty five hundred bucks (2,500) with no immediate purpose, nonetheless, I wanted to invest this amount and make a little profit; I know it's not much, but hey, Its enough to generate a small profit, which is exactly what I'm looking for...!

Any ideas?

Stock, re-seller, anything????

Invest it into an IRA - if you have income to offset this amount, you'll minimize your income taxes and start building for the future. I know retirement is a long way off, but now you have time on your side - take advantage of it now and it will pay off huge. The later in life you start saving toward retirement, the shorter time period is available for interest to compound - starting off younger with smaller investments, you can easily amass over $1,000,000 toward retirement. Start off later, even with larger investments, you'll never amass that amount, without a lot of work, as time becomes your enemy toward your investments.

Is this is for the long-term, I would recommend a DRIP Plan.

Your first option should be to fund fully a retirement account.

They are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.

The best part is you get solid annual returns from well-known, safe Blue Chip companies like: McDonalds, General Electric, Pfizer, Walmart, US Bancorp.......etc........

They are inexpensive to start and maintain, and your dividends are reinvested for free.

They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down.

If it is for the short-term, I cannot really help you.

Good Luck

I would recommend peer to peer lending. It's a relatively new concept that can enable a substantial return on investment if you properly identify risk factors. ROI can easily be maintained around 10%, with little to no correlation to the stock market. Follow the links below to see for yourself, and get more information. Basically you loan money to people like a bank does. Not convinced? Banks and underwriters are in business because they make money from loans, and lots of it, and these are some of the wealthiest people in the world.

As a lender, it works kind of like e-bay. You identify listings (borrowers), and view their financial information. You see their credit score, income, current debt load, etc., and use this information to decide if you want to bid on the loan. When bidding, you simply enter the lowest possible interest rate your willing to give to that individual and bidding proceeds until the loan is fully funded (or not). Loans are always over a 3 year period, and they provide all of the loan servicing and collection services having that cost built into the borrower鈥檚 service fee.

The nice thing about it is you can perform detailed historical analysis of all loans serviced through the system, using factors such as credit grade, employment history and income, along with other information that a bank uses when you get a conventional loan. This allows you to identify only the best loans, and see the expected ROI associated with your criteria.

This is a really cool concept that I would definitely recommend that you at least research further through their website. Use their historical performance tool to see the results for yourself.
