What is a good stock to buy as an investment?

What is a good stock to buy as an investment?

depends on what your goal is: long term or short. if long term, stick with companies that have been around for a long time [GE, Microsoft, Disney]. If you are looking for short-term investments for quick cash [this is called "speculation" not "investing"] then pick riskier stocks. Usually newer companies. Look at Beta values. The higher the beta, the more the stock price moves with the market, indicating more risk, but [potentially] more return.

I would say Microsoft seeing as how they're most likely always going to be around and inflation and consumer buying.

Ah, the eternal question.... :-)

I like Bristol Myers Squibb. It has a good yield and good cash flow. I own that one. I also like Microsoft and Dell because of their cash flow and they've been beaten down lately. I think its about time for tech to come back.

Creative.
Cause recently they won the law suit against Apple ;)

Buy Esso shares. Iranian oil is going up in smoke soon and petrol will be twice the present price.
You cannot do better than putting your money where Bush has his.

I own Bankamerica (BAC ), it is a good dividend paying stock and has a good growth record and good balance sheet.

Genentech,it's biotechnology stocks looking cure for cancers.

Check out the ticker symbol: NXXI

For how long are you holding the stock?

Try ETFs. Like FXI or QQQQ or SPY.
