What is the Difference between an INVESTMENT BANKER and a STOCK BROCKER???

Investment Banker -- A person representing a financial institution that is in the business of raising capital for corporations and municipalities. He does the grunt work for IPO, issuing bonds, etc.

Stock Broker -- Advises and trades stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc. for individual investors, trust accounts, (usually smaller investments than investment bankers) etc.

About 750,000 dollars.

an invstment banker works for an investment bank.....they invest on clients behalf.....and with thier own money as well......invstmnt bankers deal in derivatives and all sorts.....stock brokers on the other hand deal in equities(shares)........

Stock Brokers (Humans) are being replaced by Stock Brokers (Computers)

Investment Bankers will always be human.

Stock Brokers buy and sell shares in the open market.

Investment Bankers buy shares from their customers and sell shares to their customers only.
