Where can I find investment/stock employment training?

I am interested in changing carreers and have decades of knowledge on commodities. Where should I start? I live in southern California.

The Series 7 is the general brokerage license for most securities. It takes about 3 months to study for, and you need to be sponsored by a brokerage firm to take the test. The Series 3 is the license for commodities.

I'm not sure if it's different for commodities, but typically the brokerage industry is a Catch-22 with respect to getting your Series 7. You need your Series 7 to get a job and you need a job to get your Series 7. Usually, you're going to need a big firm like Merrill Lynch to hire you and sponsor you to take your Series 7. Again, I'm not sure how you get sponsored to sell commodities because that's a more unusual investment that's often not promoted by the big firms. You may find that most of the commodities work is done out of Chicago and New York because that is where the commodities exchanges are located.
