How well can you trust e-mails offering 鈥渢he next big stock option鈥?

I'd like to make some good investments this year, stocks being a primary choice. I know a lot of spam or bulk mail should NOT be trusted, but is it possible one of these messages might be on to the next "Google" or "MySpace"? And what's the best way to find out?

Most of those emails would be the "pump-and-dump" variety. Somebody has already bought the stock. Now he is trying to find suckers to buy it, bidding the price up. Then he sells for a profit and leaves you holding the bag. Or loss.

If you receive any financial or investing email, unless it is something you requested you should promptly delete it.

Do not trust them. Never. They are absolutely a scam.
