What's it like to live in a trailer? (mobile home)? |
I can like only afford a mobile home. The neighborhood doesn't seem trashy and the homes are all modular style (not like trailer on wheels)...they all have nice yards and bigger lots than most trailer parks...so anyway..is it really bad to live in a "mobile home" will the value only decrease? how does it work? do i have to pay a lot fee? i need to know the basics of trailer life and if i buy one will i be stuck in a trailer park forever with a bad investment? oh yeh one other thing..its important that i can play my drums and electric guitar do most trailer places have noise and other restrictions like apartments or is it like having a home and i can have band practice? OK! one minute. Give me chance to stop laughing. Will it be OK for you to play your'e drums and guitar. In a mobile home, in a mobile home park. Sure dawg! why not! Maybe all your neighbors would like to get their lawn chairs out, suck on some cold brews and enjoy the concert. Hey! that would be a good ad for an insulation company. "Does your mobil home neighbor play drums and guitars". "Thru the end of this week 20% off on our "drums no more" insulation". Mobil home living isn't that bad. Depends on the area. I think there's a 'drums and guitar' park in the Eastern Mojave. Good luck dude! First off, you will not be able to play your instruments very loud at all. Trailers values decrease faster than any residence. You can own the trailer but you still pay a lot fee, besides your utilities and taxes on your trailer. You would do better to save up for a down payment on a house and rent till then if you can afford it. You sound young so you won't be happy in a trailer. Good luck to you. I wouldn't buy one, if all your buying is the trailer and not the land. The trailer will depreciate over time as it wears out. If you rent the land under the trailer you are constantly at the mercy of the land lord. He could evict you and your trailer or raise your land rent. Several trailer parks in my area (SW Idaho) have been closed to sell off the land. One county has outlawed the placement of new mobile homes. Relocating a mobile home is very expensive. |
