Fine silver .999 bars vs fine silver .999 coins?

I know the bars are cheaper
I know the coins cost more
Im confused what would be a better investment?
40 or 50 years from now what will be of more value?
Is there a reason people melt silver coins again confused.
Thank you.

Generally the market for coins is more liquid than the market for bars, hence the premium.
