Considering the declining value of the US dollar, what are the most prudent investment choices?

Considering the declining value of the US dollar, what are the most prudent investment choices?

As usual, the best thing for most folks to do is to diversify broadly. In respect of currency fluctuations, diversify across national (currency) boundaries. For US folks this would mean make sure you have a significant global (nonUS) equity position -- I do not mean dump all US stock, but make sure your diversification includes both US and nonUS equities. By the way, investing in large international companies that are based in the US is itself a form of diversification, since some portion of their earnings are coming from non-US markets.

Even though the USD is declining now, most people should not bet against US equities in their entirety. With rising exports and a smaller trade deficit the decline could come to a stop or reverse.

foreign markets like the CWI ETF (own) thats my play on it.

What I have been doing to counter the effect of the declining dollar is buying commodity based assets overseas.
