Venture Capital: What does $50MM mean?

Does it mean 'million market' or something like that?

$50MM means $50,000,000. It comes from the Roman Numeral M meaning $1,000. Although technically MM stands for $2,000 in Roman Numerals, when talking about financial data, MM means a thousand thousand, or 1000 times 1000, which is a million.
