Will would be the best place to look for venture capitalist to generate money for our company.

Currently we are to raise $10,000 in capital to start developing a database for a web site once we get that done it should be really easy to get shareholders

Due to securities regulations (SEC) the ONLY thing to do would be talk to people you already know (whether they family or members of groups you belong to). Otherwise, those shares need to be registered with the SEC before you advertise for or solicit investors. My advice would be for you to read up of securities regulations related to finding investors.

I think you are grossly underestimating what it takes to find investment money. For good general background, go the U.S. Small Business Administration and follow their link for "Financing." It will bring you to http://sba.gov/financing/index.html. This is a good start for all of the sources of financing for start-up businesses.

You can also Google 'software venture capital.' I just did it and got 53 million hits.
