We are a software firm with a superior product but little resources to reach our audience. How can we make it?

Please suggest different options that we may choose from and their possible pitfalls and advantages and things that we should take care of.
e.g Will it be OK to approach a venture capitalist? Are their any reliable firms that can do this incubation task for us? What collaboration strategies should we plan out to progress but not be taken over? Any suggestions would be welcome?

Internt advertising is cheap. I put your link on my page for free. Just email it to me.

email me ur link so i can read abut ur co. and i will let u knw how cuz i huv some contracts wit foreign firms looking for E-solutions in N. America..

If u r from India there are incubation centers like IIMA has one, Nirma Institute of Technology has one, IDMA Ahmedabad and even govt. also promotes for Entrepreneurship... Well goahead and all the best.

There are plenty of PPC (pay per click) programs. The 2 biggest, I think, are Google & Yahoo!.

A couple free resources 鈥?check out the sources box for links:

1) Create a blog pertaining to your field

2) Use Yahoo! 360, Yahoo! Local & Yahoo! Groups

Also, consider signing up for an affiliate program. These programs enable you to advertise on other's sites (your affiliates) and once a sale is made to you, your affiliates & the program are paid a commission. We use ShareASale & pay out $25 to our affiliates once a sale is made & ShareASale takes another $5. $30 a sale is a pretty small price to pay for us. And I'm sure most programs like that allow you to set the commission rate (no point in your commission being half the price of a sale for you!)

I listed a couple of handy sites relating to marketing, promotion & advertising. I hope they鈥檙e helpful for you.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Public relations (if done yourself) is free. If you're a decent writer, put together a news release and fax/email it to trade magazines for your industry, then contact the reporters to ask if you can provide further information. If the product is as good as you say, coverage might follow.
