I have some business plans, can anyone introduce me to any venture capitalist? The best place to start looking, before you seek venture capital, is the 3 F's: Family, Friends, and Fools. They will believe in you and they know if you're a trustworthy person. The next place to look (after obtaining such funding, if more is needed) is to Angel Investors. Angels are typically successful business people who want to help others get their start. Angels bring with them good business experience and contacts. Venture Capitalists are your last option, as they will usually take a 95% ownership position in your business and let you earn another 5% or 10% back from them. The reason to work with venture capitalists is that they bring a strong network of contacts and will help you grow a much larger business. So your piece of the pie is small, but it's a smaller piece of a much larger pie. Also, VC's will often fire the founders and bring in their own management if they think the idea is a good one.
